GOLF COURSE DETAILS – VALE DE MILHO
Your 9-Hole Golf Course in the Algarve

PRO Comments: As 70% of the game of golf is decided with approach and putting, the course has been specifically designed to test and improve a players skills in these areas. The greens are built to provide a very consistant putting surface, and are also especially receptive to a well struck shot. Below are comments from Anthony about playing the course.

Hole Nš 1
The first hole is a good opening hole that requires you to trust your swing and control your distance. Features consist of palm trees and bunkers protecting tthe right of the green. Controlling your distance is the key to playing Vale do Milho and the first hole is a perfect example of that. The green is open in the front to allow a shot to run up or receptive to a high approach shot.

Hole Nš 2
This hole can be considered the most challenging on the course. The open fairway to the green appears at first sight to be uncomplicated. However, you have a water hazard to your right. For the short hitter (or a miss hit), there is another water hazard running across the fairway to catch your ball before reaching the green.

Hole Nš 3
This shorter hole is deceiving because of the steep raise in elevation from the tee to the green. Consider one club longer than first thought as you will find the area of the green to be tight with a bunker to the front right.

Hole Nš 4
The obvious drop in elevation from the tee to the green may cause an error in club selection. The right side of the green is protected by a deep bunker.

Hole Nš 5
This hole is straight forward with a bunker in front of the green and a hidden bunker on the left.

Hole Nš 6
Controlling the distance of your shot is the key to this hole. Try and hit your shot to the left of the hole as this will leave you and up-hill putt.

Hole Nš 7
Two hidden bunkes either side of the green protect the green. It requires a relaxed straight shot. The green slopes gently from back to front.

Hole No 8
This is a favourite hole amongst the local Members. There is a deep bunker on the right of the green with another one hidden from view to the left. Should the golfer play over the green there is a tricky pitch back up a steep slope with not much green to work with.

Hole No 9
This is a favourite hole amongst the local Members. There is a deep bunker on the right of the green with another one hidden from view to the left. Should the golfer play over the green there is a tricky pitch back up a steep slope with not much green to work with.
